WARSAW, DUPLIN COUNTY -

Athletes at James Kenan High School were scheduled to receive their 2013 state football championship rings Tuesday. 

The team won the 2013 high school football championship in December.

The team's strong running game led the way to the championship.  They defeated West Montgomery in a final score of 42-14. 

This is James Kenan's first football state championship since 2007 where they also defeated West Montgomery 13-6. 

The ceremony was scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. inside the school gym.
