GREENVILLE, Pitt County - A shooting early Sunday morning is being investigated by Greenville Police. Police confirm two people were injured in the incident.
Police said the shooting happened around 2:14 a.m. Sunday, near the 100 block of East 4th Street. The first victim, 27-year-old Kelvin Blount, told officers that a group was fighting in the parking lot when shots were fired by an unknown individual, hitting him in the arm.
While police were interviewing that victim, a second victim arrived in a car suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand. The second victim, 17-year-old Jacob Moore, told police he was shot in the hand while watching the fight in the parking lot. The injuries to both victims do not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.
Detectives have been able to develop various leads are following up on these aspects at this time. The motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
