PREVIOUS STORY

Earl Kimrey will make his first appearance in an Onlsow County courtroom since being arrested on charges related to the death of 3-year-old Mariah Woods.

A dive team found Woods' body in Pender County on Saturday. Investigators arrested Kimrey earlier that day. Kimrey is the boyfriend of Mariah's mother, Kristy.

In court Monday, Kimrey will be charged with obstruction of justice for not reporting the girl's death and with concealing her body. He will also be charged larceny, breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.

The warrant accuses him of breaking into a home near the home where he lived with Mariah's mother, Mariah and her two older brothers. Investigators say Kimrey took two dressers from what appears to be an unlived in home on High Hill Road.

Judge Louis Foy, Jr. is scheduled to preside over Kimrey's first appearance in the morning session.

The Onslow County District Attorney could file more charges in Mariah's death once an autopsy is completed. Preliminary results could come as soon as Monday.
