KINSTON, Lenoir County -
The man accused in the murder of Vontrece Robinson has been arrested, Kinston Police reported on Friday.
On Thursday, KPD detectives issued a warrant for the arrest of James Sparks III, 25, of Cary, on charges of murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. With the help of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Sparks was arrested at a home in the 1700 block on George Avenue in Kinston on Friday.
Sparks is being held in the Lenoir County Jail on a no bond status.
According to prior reports, Robinson, 35, was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Kamelot Lounge in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 14. Another man, 26-year-old Tajeem Harris, was also shot, but suffered non-life threatening injuries.
