KINSTON, Lenoir County - A man suspected of selling drugs is off the streets of Kinston after police there arrested him with numerous weapons in his possession.
Kinston Police announced Tuesday that George Junius Garner III was arrested Monday evening around 7 at Fairfield Park on West Vernon Avenue. He is charged with multiple drug and weapons charges.
KPD detectives, after obtaining a search warrant located .22 caliber ammunition .380 caliber ammunition, a handgun holster and more than $900 in cash in Garner's car. Detectives also found two handguns with calibers matching the bullets found and four dosage units of heroin at a spot where Garner had been seen earlier in the day.
Garner was booked into the Lenoir County Jail on a $140,100 secured bond, but had made bail and was released by Tuesday morning.
