EASTERN CAROLINA -

Here is a list of Fourth of July events in Eastern Carolina. Some celebrations have been rescheduled due to Hurricane Arthur, while others will go on as planned.

BEAUFORT COUNTY:

The City of Washington Fireworks and Lee Chevrolet announce the cancellation of all morning and afternoon activities for July 4th. At this time, they anticipate going ahead with the Spare Change concert at 6 p.m. and the fireworks and laser light show immediately after the concert.

The Freedom Day Gospel Explosion will move their show to The Word of Life Worship Center at 4449 Main St. Extended in Washington. The time remains the same-- from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are asking for a $10 donation at the door.

The Farmers and Artisans Saturday Market is still on track for Saturday morning. The Zaxby's Chicken Children's Fun Zone will be rescheduled for a later date. Further updates can be found at www.facebook.com/WashingtonHarborDistrictAlliance.

CARTERET COUNTY:

Atlantic Beach's annual fireworks show will be held on Saturday, July 5 at 9 p.m. at The Circle.

Emerald Isle says its fireworks show will go on as planned. It will be at 9 p.m. Friday over the Bogue Inlet Pier.

Morehead City has moved its fireworks show to Saturday, July 5 at 9 p.m.

The town of Beaufort's 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Gallant's Channel will be held July 5. The grounds will open at 6 p.m. with fireworks scheduled for 9 p.m.

CRAVEN COUNTY:

Havelock's Freedom Festival at City Park has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 5.  The schedule of events will be the same, including the performance of the 2nd MAW Band from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The full events schedule is as follows:

- 9:00 p.m. Fireworks Display

New Bern's July 4th Celebration will go on as planned. It is scheduled to take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at Lawson Creek Park (1309 Country Club Rd.).

DARE COUNTY:

The Avon Fireworks Committee, Avon Property Owners' Association, Koru Village, Pyrotecnico, and Dare County have made a joint decision to reschedule the July 4th fireworks show on the Avon Fishing Pier tentatively to Monday, July 7 at 9 p.m.

The Town of Duck has canceled its Fourth of July Parade and Community Concert. Due to logistics, the events will not be rescheduled.

The Town of Manteo announces all of its Fourth of July events have been rescheduled for Sunday, July 6.

The Town of Nags Head's Fireworks Spectacular, originally scheduled for Friday, July 4, has been moved to Saturday, July 5 at 9:25 p.m. The fireworks will be shot off from Nags Head Pier, as originally planned.

ONSLOW COUNTY:

Onslow County Parks & Recreation says the 31st annual Onslow County Freedom Fest will go on as scheduled. It will be at Onslow Pines Park (1244 Onslow Pines Rd., Jacksonville). Gates open at 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

Camp Lejeune says that as of Wednesday, the base's July 4th celebration is still expected to take place Friday as planned. LL Cool J will headline the event and will take the stage between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday on W.P.T. Hill Field at Camp Lejeune.  (CLICK HERE to read more.)

Surf City has canceled its fireworks and band scheduled for July 3. It will now take place on Aug. 29.

Swansboro has cancelled its July 4th Celebration as well. The fireworks have been rescheduled for the 60th Anniversary Mullet Festival in October, and other events scheduled for the 4th, including the concert, are canceled.
