Police said a man was shot in Jacksonville early Tuesday morning.

According to the Jacksonville Police Department, officers were called to Onslow Memorial Hospital at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in reference to the 27-year-old shooting victim.

The man told officers he was shot at a home on the 200 block of Eastwood Road., police said.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, suffered one gunshot wound, but is listed in good condition as of late Tuesday morning, said investigators.

At last check, no arrest had been made and there is no word on a motive.

A neighbor tells NewsChannel 12 he heard the gunshots.

"I was awakened, but when I heard the cops, I knew it was for real," said Prince Craddock. "I got down and peeked out the window - the lowest of the blinds. I was on my knees. Because gunshots don't got no names."

Neighbor Stella Simmons says she saw several people around the home earlier in the day.

"I see them come in and out all during the day, but I didn't know what was going on over there, you know? I said, something must be going on," Simmons said.
