Home dedication ceremony coincides with World Habitat Day

NEWPORT, CARTERET COUNTY - Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity is celebrating the completion of another Habitat home built with volunteers from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.

The home dedication ceremony was planned for Monday, October 7 at 11 a.m. on the build site, located at 238 Oscar Hill Road, off Roberts Road in Newport. Marines, sailors, volunteers, donors, family and friends were expected to attend.

The ceremony was planned in conjunction with World Habitat Day. The United Nations designated the day to recognize the basic need for adequate shelter around the world.

Crystal Coast Habitat has built about 90 homes in Havelock, Onslow and Carteret counties since 1988.
