Hit-and-run crash sends five children to hospital
Troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol are on the lookout for a blue SUV after a Tuesday night hit-and-run that sent five children to the hospital.
Troopers said that the incident happened along N.C. Highway 903, near the entrance to DSM Pharmaceuticals in Pitt County. Troopers said that a blue SUV rear-ended a red passenger car. Troopers said the SUV fled the scene. Troopers said that there were seven people in the car, including five children. All were taken to the hospital for minor injuries and released.
Troopers are looking for the SUV involved in the hit-and-run. They said that the SUV's model year is 2005 or 2006. Troopers also said the SUV may have had rims. The SUV suffered heavy front-end damage in the crash, and troopers said they believe the SUV's headlights were knocked out. Anyone with information on the SUV is asked to call North Carolina Highway Patrol at (252) 792 4101.
