GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY - Greenville Police said they are investigating two shootings and three armed robberies that all happened within hours.
First Incident: 10:30 p.m. Wednesday
According to investigators, the string of crime began at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pecan Grove Apartments on Lindsay Drive. Three men, including one with a handgun, approached a man at the apartment complex's parking lot, police said. The robbers made off with the victim's cash and cell phone.
Police said they searched the area with K-9 units, but could not find the suspects, described as three black males wearing black t-shirts. According to investigators, two of the robbers had dreadlocks and one is light-skinned.
Second Incident: 11:45 p.m. Wednesday
Another Greenville robbery happened on Roundtree Drive at about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said. At least one person was home when three suspects, wearing hoodies, kicked the door and entered, according to investigators.
It was unclear if anything was actually taken. Police said no one was injured.
Third Incident: 12:10 a.m. Thursday
Greenville Police said they were then called to a shooting at the apartments of Sterling Pointe at about 12:10 a.m. Thursday. According to investigators, one victim was shot and was taken to Vidant Medical Center. Police did not release the victim's identity or extent of injures.
Fourth Incident: 12:43 a.m. Thursday
Officers said they later responded to a shooting on Battle Street at about 12: 43 a.m. Thursday. One victim was shot, but there's no word on an identity or condition.
Fifth Incident: 1:15 a.m.
Finally, Greenville Police said they are investigating a robbery at the intersection of Arlington Boulevard and Hooker Road. According to investigators, three men robbed a victim on his bike at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday.
Police said they are working to determine if all the crimes are connected.
