BEAUFORT COUNTY - Deputies arrest a total of four people for two separate break-ins in Beaufort County. Among the items listed as stolen, 15 fishing rod and reel combos, three rifles, a pistol, LCD Television, guitar and amplifier.
Beaufort County deputies say the first break-in was reported on September 10 at a home on Mouth of the Creek Road in Blounts Creek. Deputies responded and learned five fishing rod and reel combos were taken.
The investigation led deputies to charge Lester Gordon Drake, 60, Harold James Drake, 53, and Nakijah Latifa Howard, 29, all of Harahan Road in Grifton with one count each of Felony Breaking and or Entering and one count each of Larceny After Break/Entering. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.
The suspects were served their arrest warrants on November 16 at the Pitt County Detention where all three are being held on unrelated charges. They each received an additional $50,000 bond set by a Pitt County Magistrate.
In an unrelated break-in, on September 13, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report of a break-in and theft at a residence on A&A Lane in Washington. Deputies responded to the scene and learned several items including three rifles, a pistol, LCD Television, guitar, amplifier and 10 offshore fishing rod and reel combos were taken. During the investigation, the Pitt County Sheriff's Office located all of the stolen property except the TV in a Farmville residence.
As a result, deputies charged James Bennett Mizell, 26, of Cedric Drive in
Farmville with one count of Felony Breaking and or Entering and one count of Larceny After Break/Entering. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.
On November 15, Mizell was served by Pitt County Sheriff's Office at the Pitt
County Detention where he was being held on unrelated charges. He was held on an additional $10,000 bond set by a Pitt County Magistrate.
