GOLDSBORO, WAYNE COUNTY -

A former police officer has been charged for allegedly shooting into a home with as many as 20 people inside.

According to Wayne County deputies, 24-year-old William Earl Boseman Jr., of Pikeville, was arrested on one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied property. The former Fremont Police officer was being held on a $50,000 secured bond.

Investigators said between 15 and 20 people were gathered at a home on Sussex Place in Goldsboro Sunday to watch a pay-per-view fight. But the homeowner told deputies he had a physical altercation with Boseman at the residence. The suspect then allegedly threatened to return with a gun. About 30 minutes after Boseman left, shots were fired into the home, deputies said.

Boseman was later arrested on Daly Avenue in Dudley, according to investigators.
