EDGECOMBE COUNTY - Rocky Mount City Councilman Andre Knight confirms the remains found in Edgecombe County have been identified as 37-year-old Yolanda Lancaster.
A hunter found her body Monday afternoon off a path in the woods near Battleboro-Leggett Road.
NewsChannel 12 spoke with Lancaster's mother, Juray Tucker, on Tuesday in Rocky Mount. When asked if she thought the remains could be her daughter, she told us then,"I knew it was a possibility, but I am hoping and praying it is not."
The man at the center of the investigation is Antwan Pittman. But right now authorities say the only connection to the suspected serial killer is where the body was found.
Pittman is charged with one death and is suspected in several more deaths.
