CAMP GEIGER -

For the first time in history, three female Marines have graduated from the Marine Corps infantry training course.

Privates first class Julia Carroll, Christina Fuente Montenegro, and Katie Gorz went through the same physically grueling exercises as the male Marines.  Their course included carrying 90 pounds of combat gear on a 12.5 mile march.

The trio were part of a 227 person graduating class from Delta Company, Infantry Training Battalion.

The graduation ceremony was held Thursday aboard Camp Geiger.
