MOREHEAD CITY, CARTERET COUNTY - Morehead City Police are searching for two people suspected in an early morning shooting. Officers say the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
Police say Scottie Eugene Jackson, 33, and Brandy Michelle Mullins, 31, are suspected of shooting at a man inside his home on the 4800 block of Arendell Street in Morehead City. It happened Friday at about 4:20 a.m., and a child was also inside the home at the time.
Crystal Rankin tells NewsChannel 12 Jackson is her ex-husband. She said he shot at her current husband.
Investigators say this all began with an argument between the Jackson and the victim in Atlantic Beach. After that incident, police say the victim went home to a mobile home park on Arendell Street.
Investigators say Jackson and Mullins showed up at that home and shot at the man. Rankin said her two young children were home when the shot was fired.
"If something would have happened to my kids, it would have been the end of me," Rankin said.
Police the two suspects left the scene in a silver 2000 Chrysler LHS 4 door vehicle with TN license plate #F0394E.
No one was hurt in the shooting.
