Brad Pitt's original Chanel No. 5 commercial was funny enough, but "Saturday Night Live" of course had to join those mocking the actor's uber-serious take on the women's fragrance.
Taran Killam was the night's Brad Pitt lookalike, with shoulder-length locks and a scruffy beard. The "SNL" actor even matched Pitt's rambling tone as he droned on about journeys, the world turning and plans disappearing.
It all sounded very familiar, until Killam veered off:
"And then dreams wake up and smile at reality ... I'm sorry, is there really no script?" he cracked. "I've been talking to myself for, like, two hours straight and I'm starting to sound insane." And was it just him, he asked, "or do I look super homeless?"
The skit, in which Killam also promoted Taco Bell and dog condoms, was part of an overall successful episode, which saw a season high Saturday night with a 5.4 overnight rating.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the last time "SNL" performed that well, Lindsay Lohan was hosting. THR attributes the uptick to interest in political comedy. Having Bruno Mars as host likely didn't hurt, either.
Comedy favorite Louis C.K. hosts the Nov. 3 episode.
