ECU welcomes 5,600 students to residence halls this week

GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY - Nearly 5,600 students will move into campus housing at East Carolina University beginning Thursday, Aug. 15.

Spread across 15 residence halls, freshmen and returning students will continue arriving through the weekend.

Belk Residence Hall on College Hill will house students for a final semester. In January, demolition will begin on the building originally built in 1966. The site will be reused to construct two new residence halls that will provide an additional 250 beds.

Classes will begin at ECU on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
