GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY - A local couple is getting the wedding of their dreams. Jonai Lloyd and Waggter Paul won "Operation Marry Me Military" over the weekend.

The couple won a $22,000 wedding that will be held at the Tryon Palace in New Bern on Veterans Day.

Paul is a Camp Lejeune Marine and a Purple Heart recipient. Lloyd currently studies at East Carolina University.

Lloyd said the two had been trying to plan their wedding, but a budget of $5,000 had them short of their ideal wedding. She said she feels blessed to win such an amazing gift.

"I feel like God has really favored us for this. I feel like its been a long time coming. I feel like what they have given us is better than what I had planned," Lloyd said.

Paul is currently deployed overseas. He said its been difficult being away from his fiance for so many months, but he's scheduled to be home just in time for the wedding.

"Operation Marry Me Military" started in 2011 in Brunswick County. This is the third consecutive year an 'Operation Marry Me Military' wedding is being at the Tryon Palace on Veterans Day.
