EASTERN CAROLINA - Eastern Carolina celebrates National Night Out tonight to unite in the fight against crime. Find out how your town is celebrating.
In Pitt County, free food and games will be at the Grimesland Fire Department and Bell Arthur Fire Department from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight. There will be emergency vehicles to see, as well as the PCSO K9 Unit and Mounted Patrol Unit.
In Jacksonville, opening ceremonies begin at 5 p.m. at the Riverwalk Park.
In Greenville, events will take place throughout town. Food trucks and vendors will be in uptown Greenville from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The 3rd Street Community Center will have a cookout from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dream Park will have a video game truck from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
In New Bern, police caravans will be visiting 14 communities starting at 4:45 p.m. to "give crime a going away party". They will be visiting Trent Court, New Bern Towers, Colony Estates, New Bern Utilities, Carolina Colours, Craven Terrace, Sellhorn Heights, Pleasant Hill, Kings Row, Evans Mill, Old Towne, HRDA, Taberna, and Duffyfield.
In Havelock, festivities begin at 5 p.m. at Walter B. Jones Park. There will be a free concert featuring Nantucket and country artist Erin Nenni.
In Pine Knoll Shores, festivities have been canceled. The aquarium closes at 5 p.m. today.
