As of Monday, Akines was listed in good condition at Vidant Medical Center, according to a hospital official.
Deputies said Hill became angry at his mother after she confronted him about the
unauthorized use of her vehicle.
Hill was still at the scene when deputies arrived and was taken into custody, investigators said. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and resisting an officer.
Hill was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $150,000.00 bond. He had his first court appearance Monday morning.
