Deputies have arrested two suspects accused of an armed robbery at a Greene County grocery store.
According to Sheriff Lemmie Smith, Devon McCollum turned himself in to the Greene County Sheriff's Office Thursday. His alleged accomplice, Marquise Black was arrested on Wednesday by the Durham Police Department.
The two suspects are accused of the armed robbery at Head's Grocery and Grill on Fort Run Road on Dec. 28. The robbers were able to steal an undisclosed amount of money, said deputies.
No injuries were reported in the armed robbery. Both McCollum and Black have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, said investigators. McCollum was given a $50,000 secured bond while Black was being held on a $200,000 secured bond.
The Greene County Sheriff's Office is looking for two men who robbed a grocery store at gunpoint.
Surveillance photos captured the robbery.
It happened at the Heads Grocery and Grill on Fort Run Road Saturday at 6:30 p.m., according to deputies.
Employee Tammy Poplawski opened the store the next morning. She said the two brothers who run the store were the only people inside at the time of the robbery.
"His brother was back in the back and when the guy came in he saw Alex's brother apparently and he waved at him. Then the guy with the gun came in immediately."
Deputies said the robbers took an undetermined amount of cash.
Poplawski said deputies found one of the suspects blue sweatshirts down the road from the store.
She said this is the second robbery the store has had since it opened more than 40 years ago.
Deputies ask anyone who knows the men to contact the Greene County Sheriff's Office.
