HAMILITON, MARTIN COUNTY -

Four suspects in a Martin County store shooting are being jailed on bonds that total $10.6 million.

Charles Torekeyo Highsmith, 18, of Greenville, Tyquail Rasheen Matthews, 16, of Greenville, Jerrell Antwen Jenkins, 27, of Hamilton, and Dequillon Mutrill Smith, 22, of Greenville, all face several charges for the shooting at the Fida-Mart at 400 N. Front St. in Hamilton. According to deputies, they responded to the scene at about 12:44 p.m. on June 27.

A surveillance video showed two of the suspects, armed with handguns, fire several shots inside the store, investigators said. But the suspects did not take any money and left the scene in a burgundy Mercury Grand Marquis, according to deputies.

No one was injured in the shooting, deputies said. There was no word on who the suspects were allegedly targeting.

All four suspects have been charged with four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. Their bonds are as follows: Highsmith, $5 million; Matthews, $4.5 million; Jenkins, $600,000; Smith, $500,000.
