PITT COUNTY -

A man has been charged for allegedly breaking into several trailers to remove the window frames for scrap metal.

According to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, Oliver Leon Atkinson, of Greenville, has been charged with three felony counts of breaking and entering.

Investigators said Atkinson broke into three trailers at a mobile home park on the 300 block of River Road Estates Road just outside Greenville. Atkinson then removed several window frames, as well as other fixtures and wiring from inside the trailers, the Sheriff's Office stated. The incidents happened between Nov. 4, 2013 and Nov. 10, 2013.

Atkinson sold the aluminum window frames for scrap at a local metal recycler, said investigators.
