A Halifax County woman has been released from a hospital after her boyfriend shot her in the head in front of her 7-year-old son, investigators said.
According to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested 30-year-old Joshua Tristan Arrington (pictured above), of Roanoke Rapids, Wednesday night.
Investigators said it all began when Arrington got into an argument with his girlfriend on Sedum Lane just outside of Roanoke Rapids. As the woman was driving away, Arrington shot her in the head, said deputies. The victim's 7-year-old son was also inside the vehicle.
The woman managed to call 911 and was taken to the hospital, where she was treated and released, investigators said. At last check, she was resting at home.
Arrington has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, discharging a weapon into occupied property, and injury to personal property. He was placed in the Halifax County Detention Center under no bond.
His court date is scheduled for Dec. 4.
