DUDLEY, WAYNE COUNTY - A man is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under more than $750,000 in bond, for allegedly committing several shooting, robbery, and drug crimes over the past two weeks.
According to deputies, 23-year-old Christopher James Cobb, of Lakehurst Dr. in Dudley, began his crime spree on May 4, when he allegedly shot someone at Durham Lake Road. The victim was treated at Wayne Memorial hospital and released. For that incident, Cobb was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and discharging a barreled weapon into an occupied vehicle.
On May 13, Cobb allegedly used a gun to rob a man and a woman at an Exxon gas station off Highway 117 in the Dudley area. Investigators said Cobb stole $2,420 in items from the victims. Cobb also drove off in the victims' vehicle, valued at $14,000, deputies said. Cobb was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of stolen motor vehicle.
Finally, on May 13, investigators pulled Cobb's car over for allegedly driving with a suspended license. Authorities said when they searched the suspect's vehicle, they found drugs. Cobb was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license revoked.
Cobb's bond for all three incidents total $752,500.
