Deputies: 2 arrested for Craven County home invasion

CRAVEN COUNTY - A young man and woman are accused of an armed home invasion in Craven County.

The Craven County Sheriff's Office said Kevin Thomas Simpson Jr., 22, and Madeline Rose Arthur, 18, broke into a home in Bridgeton on May 20. No other details on that incident have been released.

Simpson and Arthur have both been charged with first-degree burglary, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and three counts of second-degree kidnapping.

In addition, Simpson is also charged by the New Bern Police Department with robbery with a dangerous weapon for an incident in Mickey Milligan's parking lot on May 21, investigators said. Simpson is being jailed on a $550,000 bond.

Arthur's bond was set at $60,000.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the suspects were living in an apartment that is attached to Salon 901 on D Street in Bridgeton. Anyone with information on the suspects should contact Investigator Mike Sawyer with the Craven County Sheriff's Office at 636-6643.
