WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Howard Coble is spending a second night at a Washington hospital following hernia surgery.
The 6th District Republican from North Carolina is recovering at George Washington University Hospital following surgery that came after he complained of severe stomach pains on Tuesday. His surgery was deemed a success by doctors, but he remained in the hospital on Wednesday.
Chief of Staff Ed McDonald said that doctors were pleased with the progress Coble has made following the hernia surgery and expected no complications upon his release.
A statement said it will be decided later if Coble will remain in Washington or return to North Carolina following his release from the hospital.
