MINGES BOTTLING GROUP RECOGNIZED AMONG PEPSI’S VERY BEST BOTTLERS
Eastern North Carolina Pepsi bottler earns national recognition and notable accolade
AYDEN, NORTH CAROLINA, July, 10, 2017 – One of Pepsi-Cola’s finest-performing bottlers anywhere is a familiar presence in Greenville, Kinston and New Bern, North Carolina.
The fourth-generation, family-run Minges Bottling Group (MBG) has been named among three finalists for the highest honor given to independent Pepsi bottlers by PepsiCo North America Beverages (PNAB). Named for PepsiCo’s legendary former chairman and CEO, the Donald M. Kendall Bottler of the Year Award was established in 1994 to recognize the very best Pepsi bottlers in the United States and Canada.
Led by Chairman of the Board Jeff Minges, MBG qualified for consideration after meeting or exceeding a series of rigorous award criteria, including sales performance, product quality, customer service and, importantly, giving back at the community level.
“Operating the franchise of the Birthplace of Pepsi has always been a tremendous source of pride for our family, and our organization,” says Jeff Minges. “We strive each day to be good partners in our communities, deliver quality beverages, ensure customer satisfaction and to offer a superior work place for our employees. We are extremely honored and humbled by this nomination.”
“Local businesses that cater to their customers, care for their communities and confound their competitors make us who we are,” says Mario Mercurio, senior vice president and general manager of PNAB’s Franchise Business Unit. “Pepsi was built on the extraordinary skill and dedication of independent bottlers like the Minges family, who have nurtured and advanced the Pepsi Spirit for so many years. We are fortunate and proud to have them as our partners.”
In addition to MBG, two other finalists are being considered for this year’s honor: Refreshment Services Inc. of Tallahassee, Florida, and LinPepCo of Sioux City, Iowa. All three will be celebrated and the ultimate Donald M. Kendall Award recipient will be announced during PNAB’s national bottler meeting this fall.
