CARY, N.C. - A U.S. Senate candidate favored among tea party followers in North Carolina says he'll get help from one of the national movement's leaders on the last full day of primary campaigning.
Republican Greg Brannon told supporters Wednesday that Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul would campaign for him in Charlotte on Monday, the day before the primary election. Brannon says more rally details would come later.
Brannon has promoted heavily Paul's endorsement of his candidacy. The senator is a potential 2016 player in the race for the White House. He also lent his name to Brannon's fundraising appeals.
Brannon is one of eight Republicans seeking to take on Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan in the fall.
Brannon also announced he would appear on the Glenn Beck national radio program Thursday for a third time.
