JACKSONVILLE, ONSLOW COUNTY -

Many stores in Eastern North Carolina decided to open their doors on Thanksgiving Day for Black Friday. One of them, Best Buy. The store opened its doors at 6 p.m.

NewsChannel 12 went over to the Best Buy in Jacksonville to see how many people left their turkey dinners at home to wait in line. One hour before the store opened, almost 200 people were waiting in line.

The man at the front of the line was Robert Prine. He has been holding down his spot as the first shopper in line since last Wednesday. He says waiting in line for eight days is worth the deal he's getting.

"I'm here to get the 65 inch Samsung television that is originally priced at 2,600 dollars. Today I'm getting it for 1,000 dollars. That's a 1,600 saving," Price said.

Price isn't the only person dedicated to saving a few bucks this holiday. As we interviewed people who stood in line, we found one pregnant woman whose due date was on Thanksgiving day.

"I figured if I'm not in labor I might as well stand in line for some sales," Jocelyn Clarke said. "If you like saving money you might want to stand out here too."
