CRAVEN COUNTY -

A bicyclist was injured after crashing into a large farm tractor Thursday morning, the Highway Patrol told NewsChannel 12.

According to the investigating trooper, Marin Banulos was turning his tractor left from Highway 55 to Stevenson Road in Craven County, when the bicyclist crashed into the vehicle. It happened at about 10 a.m. Thursday, when rain was pouring down.

The bicyclist, 22-year-old George Garvick, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, the trooper said. The tractor driver will be charged with a  traffic violation for not giving the right of way.

According to the trooper, the rain may have played a role in the accident.
