An official with the North Carolina Department of Transportation said Worthington Road near Corey Road in Winterville opened back up Thursday at 6 p.m.
The road closed on July 16 for construction.
Heather Causey, an Assistant Resident Engineer with NC-DOT, said "crews are out there doing a little bit of clean-up today but it is open for traffic."
Originally Causey said the DOT was supposed to complete the job by September 23. However, they finished a few days early.
Causey said they reduced the bridge from three-sections to one-section. The bridge also now has a steel foundation.
