According to his daughter, Lisa, the visitation was held Friday at Paul's Funeral Home from 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock at Jordan Cemetery in Pinetown.
A fatal crash was reported at 6:52 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 264 near the Pitt-Beaufort County line, according to The Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the driver of a white Ford Ranger was heading down Sticks Road in Greenville and ran a stop sign. He then drove out on to Highway 264 and hit a tractor trailer that was driving toward Washington from Pitt County. This caused the tractor trailer to overturn into a ditch, according to Trooper Steven Ziemba. As a result, the fuel tank ruptured, spilling 150 to 175 gallons of fuel.
Troopers said closed part of Highway 264 East for more than three hours to clean up the fuel. The highway was back open at around 10:20 a.m.
Troopers told us the driver of the Ranger died on scene; he's been identified as Kenneth Pollard, 57. Troopers said Pollard was not speeding and attempted to brake before the crash
The driver of the tractor trailer has been identified as Adonis Carter, 36; Carter suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.
Pollard leaves behind his wife of 41 years, his daughter, two sons and grandchildren.
