Two seriously injured in Onslow crash

An early afternoon car crash in Onslow County leaves two people seriously injured. 

According to the Highway Patrol, the accident happened shortly after 12:45pm at the intersection of Highway 111 and Highway 258, just outside of Jacksonville.

Troopers said a Mustang was traveling North on Highway 258 when the driver made a left turn in front of oncoming traffic.  That's when another car hit the passenger side of the Mustang, said Troopers. 

Both the driver and passenger in the mustang were airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.  Trooper said the driver of the other car was also injured.

The incident remains under investigation.  Troopers said charges are pending against the driver of the Mustang. 

The accident caused traffic delays on Highway 111 and Highway 258 for part of the afternoon.
