Troopers investigate cause of combine-involved crash

Two people were injured when an SUV rear-ended a combine, the Highway Patrol said.
The combine was traveling on Old Highway 70, near Asbury Road in Cove City, at about 8:16 p.m. Thursday, when a Ford Expedition crashed into the machine, said Trooper C.A. Taylor.
Two people in the SUV were taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Trooper Taylor said. The combine operator was not hurt.
Investigators were trying to determine what caused the wreck, Trooper Taylor said. Alcohol was not involved. Charges were pending.
