Teen rescued from railroad bridge after a swim
A teenager is rescued after jumping into the Neuse RIver, climbing onto a bridge, and then becoming too cold to continue on.
It happened in New Bern around 9 Sunday night.
Police said Bryan Nicely, 19 was walking from Bridgeton to New Bern. He walked across a railroad bridge that stretches across the Neuse River.
At one point, the bridge opens, to allow boats through.
That's where police said Nicely jumped in the water and swam to the next part of the bridge, and climbed up.
He was too cold to continue and yelled for help. Someone heard his cries and firefighters were able to rescue him. He was not hurt.
Nicely will be charged with second degree trespassing. It's illegal to be on railroad property.
