A suspicious house fire is under investigation near the Bogue Sound in Carteret County.
Fire crews were called to the 100 block of Water Oak Drive on Tuesday night at approximately 5:15, according to Broad and Gales Creek Fire Chief Drew Guthrie.
The fire burned an abandoned home, which is a total loss, Guthrie said.
The scene is near Highway 24, west of Morehead City.
No one was hurt.
The cause is under investigation.
