A mobile home burns in Vanceboro, destroying everything inside. Investigators are looking into the suspicious fire.
It took firefighters close to an hour to put out the flames. The fire happened around 1:00 Friday morning.
No one lived in the trailer, and it had no electricity.
It was being used as a storage facility and contained a family’s sentimental belongings. Another mobile home just a few feet away somehow dodged the blaze.
Joseph Ellis and his siblings believe gas was purposely used to ignite flames.
“Some person had the balls to come down here and set something on fire that didn't belong to them, and I believe the law need to do something about it,” Ellis said.
The family says they were already in the process of having the property cleared out to comply with a town ordinance.
