Governor Beverly Perdue's office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of whomever murdered a local Bojangles' restaurant manager.

In June 24, 2010,  Kenneth Michael Leefe was found dead in his car, in the parking lot of the Bojangles' he managed. The restaurant was located at Little Baltimore, just outside La Grange.

Lenoir County deputies said Leefe had just closed his restaurant when he was shot in the abdomen. It was the day before he would have turned 56.

Neither Leefe nor his restaurant was robbed, and a motive was not released. Investigators said on the night of the murder, a dark colored Mazda stopped at Leefe's car, then sped away.

The president of BUSTED LOCALS announced on Tuesday he would match the Governor's reward of $5,000. BUSTED LOCALS is a magazine that shows mug shots of criminal suspects in Eastern Carolina.
