A  local woman is accused of tricking a blind man into giving her nearly $1,000, according to Maysville Police.

Investigators say that the incident was part of a larger scheme that had the suspect, Tracy Pangelinan, taking money from people at a low-income apartment complex in the Jones County town.

Police arrested Pangelinan Thursday, capping a long-term investigation.

Police say Pangelinan collected rent, deposits, and other money from people who lived in the complex managed by NORCO Management , and kept the money for herself.

Her charges include one count of embezzlement.

The suspect no longer works for the apartment complex.

In all, Pangelinan faces more than 26 felonies.
