Police: Man arrested, two sought in robbery and police chase
Havelock police have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery and a police chase.
On Wednesday at 4:51 p.m. police responded to Pine Villa Apartments in response to a victim who reported he was following a getaway vehicle on McCotter Boulevard.
Police tried to stop the vehicle, but they ran. After a high speed chase on highway 101, the suspects stopped on the 1000 block of Temples Point Road. Three people ran from the vehicle into the woods. Officers chased and were able to catch one of the people.
19-year-old Marvin Lovell Norris was arrest and charged with felony larceny and possession of a stolen firearm.
Norris was recently in the news for the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Demetri Berry on November, 17. Norris was not charged in that shooting. Police found him to be in self defense.
Police have obtained a warrant for a second suspect in the robbery case. 25-year-old Daryl Hill is wanted as the operator of the get away vehicle. He is wanted on the following charges: felony flight to elude and felony accessory after the fact.
Hill is also a registered sex offender wanted for removing a his GPS tracking anklet and failure to report a change of address.
Police are also looking for a third unidentified person.
