Pedestrian struck by tanker truck in Atlantic Beach

CARTERET COUNTY -

Atlantic Beach Deputy Chief Jeff Harvey confirmed that a pedestrian was struck by a commercial tanker truck Friday.

Harvey said it happened around 11:55 a.m. at the intersection of West Drive and NC 58. The pedestrian was identified as Sue Cross of Raleigh.

Cross was airlifted to New Hanover Medical Center. The incident is still under investigation.
