Osprey makes precautionary landing in Jacksonville
A Marine Corps Air Station New River spokesperson tells NewsChannel 12 an Osprey aircraft made a precautionary landing in Jacksonville late Thursday afternoon.
A witness to the landing says he heard a strange, loud noise about 5:15 p.m. He says the aircraft went over his house and landed behind a church near the Ellis Park Subdivision.
Thick black smoke was coming from the Osprey but both pilots made it out safely.
No one was injured and there was no damage to property.
The Marine Corps continues to investigate.
