Officials investigate cause of early morning fire

NEW BERN -

New Bern Firefighters raced to the scene of a house fire in Craven County overnight.

The blaze was reported at 1418 Thorpe-Abbotts Lane in New Bern, according to an emergency response dispatcher.  The flames broke out shortly after 3 a.m. Friday.           

At last check the blaze was under control and investigators headed to the scene to determined what caused the fire.  There were no injuries reported.
