New York Jets defensive lineman Quinton Coples bought holiday turkeys for needy families in his hometown of Kinston.
Workers from the Coples Foundation passed out the meals at Big Z's supermarket, on E. Bright Street, and at the Halloway Center Monday.
Coples bought 250 turkeys in all, and his foundation will continue to distribute the birds Tuesday at 9 a.m., at the Salvation Army, on 2110 N. Queen Street in Kinston.
Quinton , a former Kinston High School and UNC star, is a rookie with the New York Jets. He has 2 sacks and 20 tackles so far this season.
