(AP) - A green energy advocacy group says North Carolina companies continue adding jobs, but growth is slowing in amid uncertain political support and tighter money.
The North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association on Friday releases its latest survey of renewable energy and energy efficiency companies. There are now more than 15,000 full-time jobs in North Carolina. That's 3 percent greater than last year, but growth was much slower than the double-digit expansion of previous years.
The sustainable energy industry survey started after North Carolina in 2007 became the first Southeast state and country's 25th to pass a law boosting renewable energy and energy efficiency.
A quarter of the state's clean energy jobs are in energy efficient construction, almost a quarter in research, and about one in five in manufacturing.
