RALEIGH -

(AP) - This year's races for nearly all federal and state offices in North Carolina are almost officially over.

The State Board of Elections is scheduled to meet Tuesday to certify the results of the Nov. 6 election, but a few races are still incomplete because of pending recounts. They include the 7th Congressional District race between Democratic incumbent Mike McIntyre and Republican challenger David Rouzer.

The outstanding races will be certified later by the board.

The final results are expected to bring North Carolina's electoral votes to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who edged national winner Barack Obama in the state by about 2 percentage points. The GOP's Pat McCrory will be the next governor after defeating Democrat Walter Dalton by 11 percentage points.
