RALEIGH -

A North Carolina seat in the U.S. House of Representatives will be decided by a machine recount next week.

7th District Representative, Mike McIntyre, won the Nov. 6 election by just 655 votes. Almost 337,000 ballots were cast.

That is within the 0.5% margin to trigger a recount under state law. Republican challenger David Rouzer requested the recount.

Poll workers in Bladen county accidentally counted the votes from one district twice.

Rouzer said he wants to make sure every legal vote is properly and accurately counted.
