The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has found the man they say shot and killed two people while injuring two others.
Investigators say on Sunday deputies responded to a shots fired call at a home on Old Mount Olive Highway. At that location, deputies found three victims; Anthony Kornegay and Nakiea Garner were deceased and Tre Stokes was injured with a gunshot wound to the thigh. A fourth victim was found a short distance from the residence with a gunshot wound to his arm.
Both the victims and witnesses identified the shooter as Jujan Cox, according to a news release. Witnesses also said Cox used an assault rifle and fired into a residence and a vehicle. Cox was located at a motel in Smithfield Tuesday morning; he's been formally charged with two counts of murder. Investigators say additional charges are pending.
