Morehead City man accused of attempted rape

Carteret County deputies arrest a man they say tried to rape a woman at her home.

Alonzo Hart, 19, of Morehead City was arrested Tuesday. Deputies say he tried to rape a woman at her Newport home Monday.

Investigators say the suspect knew the victim.

Hart is charged with attempted second degree rape. He is in the Carteret County Jail under a $15,000 bond.

Hart is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday.
